Dreamy dusty blue stripes and natural sisal make this extra-large woven storage basket the perfect addition to any nursery, bedroom, or living room. Our KITO baskets also double as stylish planters, adding a touch of charm to your favorite indoor plants. Need more inspiration? Check out our basket uses page HERE.

These beautifully crafted baskets are handwoven by a small Kenyan weaving cooperative of skilled craftswomen and overseen by a dedicated dye manager to ensure consistent color quality. Sisal grass is sourced locally and is purchased ready-rolled when orders come in. The grass is then hand-dyed in large vats, hung out to dry, and meticulously twined to create each basket.

Our baskets are handmade by a small weaving cooperative of forty ladies in Kenya, who are dedicated to creating high-quality products with consistent colour and quality. Sisal grass is sourced and hand-dyed in large vats, and then woven using a traditional twining method that requires a great deal of skill and expertise.

By purchasing one of our baskets, you are actively supporting these weavers and their families during the challenging dry seasons when subsistence farming may not be enough. We are committed to empowering women and providing them with flexible income opportunities. And with each basket comes a thank you card from the weaving cooperative, so you can connect with the women who created your beautiful new piece.
