KIT-CAT KLOCKS
A smiling American wall clock with rolling eyes, a wagging tail and a charm that has kept rooms company since 1932.
Playful but grown-up, nostalgic but still fresh — Kit-Cat is not just here to tell time. It gives a wall personality.
Movement & character
The eyes move. The tail moves. The room changes.
Kit-Cat Klocks are loved because they do something most wall clocks never do — they feel alive. The rhythm is simple, gentle and instantly recognisable.
The Kit-Cat magic
A small moving detail that makes people stop and smile.
Rolling eyes.
The eyes move from side to side, giving the clock its unmistakable expression and comic timing.
Wagging tail.
The tail swings gently like a pendulum, turning a practical wall clock into a characterful home object.
That smile.
The fixed smile is simple, nostalgic and instantly recognisable — the reason Kit-Cat never feels silent on a wall.
Instant mood.
In a kitchen, studio, hallway or office, the movement gives a blank wall a small but memorable personality.
Goosebump note
This is why Kit-Cat is strongest in person.

Goosebump styling tip
Let it be the one object that makes a plain wall feel alive.
Kit-Cat works best when there is enough wall space for the tail to move freely. Give it breathing room, then let the eyes, smile and colour do the styling.

Shop Kit-Cat GiftsBrand history
From Depression-era cheer to American home icon.
Kit-Cat Klocks have kept the same joyful spirit for generations — a smiling clock made to bring movement, humour and a little optimism into everyday rooms.
Since 1932
A smiling clock with rolling eyes, a wagging tail and a long American design memory.
Invented in Oregon.
Kit-Cat Klock was first invented by designer Earl Arnault during the Great Depression, bringing a cheerful face to one of America’s hardest periods.
Animated from the start.
The earliest clocks were made by Allied Clock Company in Portland, Oregon, with the wagging tail and rolling eyes already central to the design.
The look became iconic.
The bow tie and top paws were added, helping create the Kit-Cat silhouette people still recognise today.
California Clock Company.
Production moved to Southern California, and the company became the California Clock Company — keeping the Kit-Cat legacy moving forward.
Still smiling.
More than 90 years later, Kit-Cat remains a joyful piece of Americana — still loved for the same smile, motion and character.
Goosebump reading
The history matters because the charm has lasted.
Kit-Cat is not trying to be new. It is loved because it keeps doing one simple thing well: bringing time to life with a smile.
