Use a soft measuring tape.
Pass it across your forehead, just above your ears and around the fullest part at the back, where you want the hat to sit.

Close, without pulling tight.
Keep it level. Measure two or three times and note the centimetres. A tight measurement may not reflect a comfortable fit.

Bring your number. Try the fit.
Handmade hats can feel different. Circumference is a starting point; hairstyle, shape and personal preference also affect the fit.

Follow the pleats, gently.
For pleated styles, raise the brim towards the crown, then fold gently inwards into an S shape. Avoid crushing or pulling the grass fibres, and do not leave folded for long periods.
Avoid immersing in water or leaving in a hot car. Dust gently with a soft brush; if wet, dry away from direct sunlight.

For the Helix Long Brim, Earth Age advises handwashing with natural detergent, avoiding hard rubbing, and air drying on the brim or upside down on the crown to preserve shape. Do not dry flat.
